What is Datatalk Made for?

DataTalk.asia is created and managed by PPMN in collaboration with Perludem (Association for Elections and Democracy) through the RESPECT Program (The Asia-Pacific Regional Support for Elections and Political Transitions).

The main purpose of making this data portal is to present data about election violations in Indonesia which are supplemented by visualization of the data. Next, this dataset and visualization are expected to be the main material for making analysis, opinion, or learning articles related to the data on election violations.

If sorted, the flow is (1) the user opens the data or selects the dataset that they want to know or study, (2) the user sees the visualization of the dataset that was selected, then (3) the user can view or create articles related to the dataset and its visualization.

The main target of users of this data portal is journalists who are expected to be able to disseminate the datasets they are processing into articles to a wider audience. Of course this data portal is also open to be used by people outside of journalists, such as election activists, academics, or other related parties.

The creation of this data portal was made possible by the support of the American People through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The contents of this data portal are the full responsibility of PPMN for the RESPECT Program and do not reflect the views of USAID or the United States Government.
